High-quality French oak barrel gives wines a distinctive vanilla, spice, and brown sugar aroma. Wines aged in oak barrels develop a rich structure and refined finish, maintaining balance between fruit and toasted aromas.
Usage Recommendations
- Ideal choice: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Syrah wines
- Recommended aging period: 12-18 months
- Toast level: choice of heavy, medium, or untoasted (for vinegar)
Oak Barrel Maintenance
Preparing New Barrel
- Fill barrel with solution (10g tartaric acid per liter of water)
- Soak for 4-5 days
- Empty thoroughly
- Disinfect with sulfur strip
- Fill with wine immediately
Used Barrel Maintenance
- Clean with anhydrous soda solution (1kg soda per 10l hot water)
- Scrub interior wall with brush
- Rinse thoroughly
- Soak in tartaric acid solution for 2-3 days
- Disinfect with sulfur strip
Empty Barrel Storage
- Rinse immediately with clean water
- Let drain for 24 hours
- Disinfect with sulfur strip (1/4 strip per 100l)
- Seal properly with wooden or silicone bung
- Store in humid and cool conditions (70% humidity, temperature 12-17°C)
- Repeat sulfur strip burning every 3 months
