Cleaning Used Barrels: Clean with anhydrous soda solution (1kg soda per 10L hot water). Brush inner surface thoroughly. Rinse with clean water. Soak in tartaric acid solution (10g/L) for 2-3 days. Disinfect with sulfur strip (1/4 strip per 100L). Storing Empty Barrels: Rinse with clean water. Let drain for 24h. Burn sulfur strip (1/4 strip per 100L). Seal openings with silicone bungs. Store in humid room (70% humidity). Keep at temperature 12-17°C. Repeat sulfuring every 3 months. It's not recommended to keep barrels empty. Avoid leaving dirty barrels or barrels with wine residue standing.
